1. Makes a change to sparrows - parrots roosting at Port Augusta
2. Boat out of water after a high tide? at Whyalla
3. Our block at the Eldo Hotel, Woomera - these were former staff quarters for the rocket range

Quorn
1. Quaint Quorn - home of the Pichi Richi Railway
2. Brekky at the Austral Hotel, Quorn - a bit like a boarding school
3. The lady between me and Richard is originally from Brook Lane, Ripley and her husband is from Delves, Swanwick. The bigger coincidence is that the actually live in Calgary, Canada!!
4. I was fascinated by the size of this at least 500 year old gum tree - there weren't any koalas in it though

Wine
1. Just for Janet! We started our wine tour of Barossa Valley here - answer in Sainsburys etc.
2. Serious tasting at Barossa Estate - note red face - this was about the tenth of the 26 we tried all day!
3. 165 years old - the vines, not Richard
4. Helping with the next vintage at Langfeil Winery. All the wines at this little vineyard were good, especially the Freedom Shiraz at $100 a bottle!

Victor, Ashbourne and a brewery
1. The horse tram at Victor Harbour being pulled by Skye.
2. Very laid back seal at Granite Island - just idly moving one flipper to stay afloat!
3. We found the Steam Exchange Brewery at Goolwa - were driving so just bought a few to take away
4. On the way back to Adelaide we passed through Ashbourne, where Richard was born, and had a coffee at the Green Man

To Geelong (where Charlie went to school)
Bendigo
1. Lake Weeroona in Bendigo, the first we've seen with water for a while. The lake in Ballarat has been dry for 2 years and they are having to mow it!!
2. Richard in his hi-vis on our visit to Bendigo depot
3. Spot me on our balcony at the Shamrock Hotel, Bendigo. Charles & Diana stayed there in 1983
4. The lobby of the Shamrock. It was 35-38 degrees while we were there

Grand Prix
1. Pits for the Grand Prix, clearly showing Hamilton. We find it hard to believe that we were allowed to get near the main areas of the circuit.
2. The locals driving the course lined up at a traffic light normally in use, but which will be moved etc ready for the race.
3. One of the S bends on the course, very close to the next one. There was a load of gravel ready to catch anyone who comes off the track
4. As you can see there were some refuges which will need to be moved or the cars will lose their front spoilers at least. Only a few days to go to get the job done.

Melbourne scenes
Animals
1. My first encounter with Skippy
2. Wasn't sure if this was Tinga or Tukka - that's if you are old enough to remember! and yes I have had my hair cut.
3. The Penguin Parade, it was wonderful to see them come out of the sea, stand around for a bit and then set off on the long trek to their burrows. Useless info: if they are on land they are a waddle of penguins, in the sea they are a raft of penguins - not a lot of people know that.
4. This is one of the modern art creations on the quayside at Docklands - it is called 'cow up a tree'! I'd never have guessed.

Melbourne 1
As you can see we are now in Melbourne which is a fantastic city. Kath has gone to see some penguines today so I am posting a few tram pics.
1. Tourist sightseeing tram (free).
2. Inside the restaurant tram (expensive).
3. Kath had a few drinks with her meal.
4. Our hotel is the building on the left behind the tram with flags and a red neon sign.
Finally I must add most Melbourne trams are quite modern with old ones converted for special purposes. Just a handful of the green ones remain in service.
