Eyre Peninsula (1)

On our travels after we left Adelaide we went down the east and up the west of the Eyre Peninsula and are now in Ceduna ready to face the outback across the Nullarbor.
1. In Melrose I was very brave and walked over the wobbly swing bridge over the dry creek!
2.  Along our way we saw this enormous road train.
3' Loved this 'friendly' notice in the coffee shop in Burra.
4.  A view of the steelworks by the sea in Whyalla - the Queen has been there twice - can't imagine why!

Adelaide 2

1.  Saw this beautiful old Holden car in Glenelg.
2. They even have pigs roaming the streets eating litter in Adelaide.
3.  This little boy was dancing in Rundle Street Mall. Adelaide.  He got quite a bit of money.
4.  Itzak was playing his own music on a synthesiser.  He was brilliant and played for ages without a break.  His CD is called Krakout if you want to look him up.

Smoked Salmon Pizza for tea - highly recommended!
3. Lion factory in Adelaide.  Not sure what they make - may be lions with the yellow colours?
4. Glenelg beach.

Saturday and Sunday

1.  We travelled on the Overland from Melbourne to Adelaide - 10 hours.
2.  Decided to have afternoon tea on the train and Richard found his scone a bit crumbly!
3.  Shelter in 27 degrees under a gum tree, instead of up one.
4.  Arty picture of a St Kilda (Adelaide) tram museum car.

Friday's wanderings in Melbourne

1.  I went on a tram ride to Footscray.  It's like being in Vietnam, not much English on the shops etc.
2.  I saw this advert for mobile phones and thought the name of the business sounded right for a ring tone!
3.  Yes, Moonee Ponds does exist, so Dame Edna is real.
4.  I went to St Kilda and thought this bedding shop was well named

Thursday's wanderings

1.  In Queen Vic market I found this stall selling 'bring your own bottle' wine.
2. Building 1010 near the harbour has a 5 star rating for being environmentally friendly
3. Went to the GPO for some stamps, but the PO had moved to a less grand building!  This is now full of posh clothes shops.
4.  Decided to go to a food court for tea to night but it was closing when we got there. Dined on the pavement with trams passing by instead - very good it was too.  Just nicely got back to base before the thunder and rain started.
